Safety
Community guidelines
PulseIn is meant to be a calm place to meet people and keep in touch. These guidelines say what isn't allowed in posts, replies, profiles, cards, communities and tip messages. They're part of our terms of use.
Something can break these guidelines without being illegal. If you think something is illegal, you can also send us a legal notice.

1.The short version
- Treat people the way you'd treat them in the same room.
- Don't post anything that sexualises or endangers children. Ever.
- Don't threaten, harass, or attack people for who they are.
- Don't scam, spam or pretend to be someone else.
- Don't share other people's private information or intimate images.
- Don't break the law.
2.Child safety
We have no tolerance for content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. That includes images, video, text and links, real or drawn or generated, and attempts to contact children for sexual purposes.
We remove it, keep the evidence securely so it can be handed to the authorities, and may close the account that posted it.
3.Harassment or bullying
Don't insult, demean, intimidate or pile on people. Don't keep contacting someone who has made clear they don't want to hear from you, and don't encourage others to target someone.
4.Hateful conduct
Don't attack people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, age, disability or serious illness. That includes slurs, dehumanising comparisons and hateful symbols used to attack.
5.Violence or threats
Don't threaten anyone, wish serious harm on them or encourage others to hurt them. Don't celebrate or promote violent attacks or violent extremist groups. Don't post graphic violence just to shock.
6.Suicide or self-harm
Don't encourage or give instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Talking about your own experience, or about recovery, is welcome. Our automated checks never remove posts about self-harm on their own.
If someone may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
7.Sexual content
Don't post sexual content involving anyone who hasn't agreed to it, and never anything sexual involving minors. Don't send sexual content to people who didn't ask for it.
We may remove other sexually explicit content, or limit who sees it.
8.Private information
Don't share someone's private information without their permission: home address, private phone number or email, identity documents, financial or health details, or intimate images. Sharing intimate images without consent is never allowed.
Pulse Cards are made to be shared, so details someone put on their own card aren't private in this sense. Don't copy them somewhere they didn't choose to share them.
9.Scams or fraud
Don't try to trick people out of money, passwords or personal details, and don't promote fake giveaways, investment schemes or phishing links. Don't sell or promote illegal goods or services, such as drugs, weapons or stolen data.
10.Spam
Don't flood PulseIn with repeated or unwanted posts, replies, follows or connection requests, and don't use automation or fake accounts to make something look more popular than it is. Lots of links, shortened links or the same text over and over are signs we look for.
11.Impersonation
Don't pretend to be another person, brand or organisation in a way that misleads people. Parody and fan accounts are fine if they say so clearly.
12.False information
Don't share false information that can cause real harm, such as fake health cures, or false claims about how, when or where to vote.
13.Illegal content and other people's rights
Don't post anything that's illegal where you are or where it's seen, and don't post work you don't have the right to share, such as someone else's photos, music or writing. Rights holders can send us a notice.
14.What happens when the rules are broken
Text and images are checked automatically when they're posted, by word lists and open-source models that run on PulseIn's own servers. When something clearly breaks these guidelines, it isn't published, and the app tells you why. When the checks aren't sure, a second model or a person looks at it.
Reports from the app and legal notices go to a review queue, the most serious first, and a person decides on them. Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, or stop an account from posting for a while or for good. We take into account whether it was a mistake, how often it has happened, and how much harm it could do.
If we've acted on your content or account and you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] from your account's email address and a person on our team will look at it again.
15.How to report
- In the app: open the menu on a post or a profile and choose Report. You can also block or mute the account.
- Illegal content: use our notice form. You don't need an account.
- Security problems: write to [email protected].
