How moderation works

Posts, replies, profiles and communities are checked when they're written: first with word lists and simple checks for spam, then with open-source models that run on PulseIn's own servers. Photos, and frames sampled from videos, are checked the same way. Your words and pictures aren't sent to an outside AI company to be moderated.

When something clearly breaks our community guidelines, it isn't published and the app tells you why. When the models aren't sure, a second model or a person on our team looks at it.

Reports go to a review queue, the most serious first, and a person decides on them. Content that breaks the guidelines or the law is removed, and accounts that keep breaking them may lose the ability to post.

Your tools in the app

  • Report

Report a post or a profile from its menu. A person on our team reviews reports.

  • Block

Block someone from their profile. You stop seeing each other's posts, and any follows between you end.

  • Mute

Mute an account to stop seeing its posts in your feeds.

  • Not interested

Tell For You to show fewer posts like one, from one person, or about one topic.

  • Private cards

Share a private card through links that expire, and stop every link to it at once if one travels too far.

  • Delete your account

In Settings in the app, or on this website. It's never blocked.

Report illegal content

If you believe something on PulseIn is illegal, tell us with a legal notice. You don't need an account. Something that's unpleasant or breaks our rules but isn't illegal is quicker to report in the app.

Decisions and appeals

If we've removed something of yours or limited your account and you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] from your account's email address. A person on our team will look at it again and tell you the outcome.
